‘Prometheus’ FX: The Destruction of an Engineer’s DNA

Prometheus is dipping at the box-office this weekend, but it remains one of the more interesting films of the year for the ideas it inspires, but more importantly the fact it has people talking, something hard to come by when it comes to blockbuster cinema. Well, I’ve got something else for you to chew on as The Daily has scored a pair of visual effects “making of” videos.

The first of which features WETA Digital Visual Effects Supervisor Martin Hill discussing the opening sequence in which the sacrificial Engineer dissolves and his DNA is destroyed.

The second takes a look at the landing of the Prometheus ship on LV-223, the finale crash sequence and more with Visual Effects Supervisor Charley Henley from MPC (The Moving Picture Company).
