Just On the Road starring Garrett Hedlund, Sam Riley and Kristen Stewart might be among the 2012 Cannes Film Festival selections and today the Facebook page for the pic is updated with six new pictures and a poster from the film.
Based on Jack Kerouac‘s landmark novel, “On the Road”, this story follows Sal Paradise (Riley), an aspiring New York writer who meets Dean Moriarty (Hedlund), a wild and infectiously charismatic ex-con. They hit it off immediately. Determined to avoid the pitfalls of a narrow, prescribed life, Sal hits the road, joining Dean on what evolves into a life-changing physical and emotional odyssey. Thirsting for freedom, they discover the world, the ecstasy of experience, the connectedness of humanity and ultimately themselves.
Also starring in the pic are Kirsten Dunst, Amy Adams, Viggo Mortensen, Tom Sturridge, Alice Braga, Elisabeth Moss, Danny Morgan and Marie-Ginette Guay.
I have been expecting this film to hit the festival circuit since Cannes last year and was really surprised when it wasn’t at Toronto, but just maybe with the following poster image they are ready to take it to festivals and get some distribution.
