Don’t Look Down: ‘Man on a Ledge’ Poster May Inspire Vertigo

Moviefone has debuted the poster for Sam Worthington‘s high rise thriller, Man on a Ledge and it’s a doozy.

The film centers on an ex-cop and now wanted fugitive (Worthington) stands on the ledge of a high-rise building while a hard-living New York Police Department hostage negotiator (Elizabeth Banks) tries to talk him down. The longer they are on the ledge, the more she realizes that he might have an ulterior objective. Considering the poster’s tagline, “You can only push an innocent man so far,” it makes me wonder if we’re looking at some kind of Fugitive story, the only difference being that this time the innocent man isn’t running to clear his name.

Either that or it’ll be like the “NewsRadio” episode where Jon Lovitz threated to jump from Dave’s office before Phil Hartman came and saved the day. Man I loved that show and Phil Hartman.

Along with Worthington and Banks, the film co-stars Jamie Bell, Anthony Mackie, Edward Burns, Ed Harris and Kyra Sedgwick (she’s the closer don’tcha know?). Summit has set the film for a January 13, 2012 release, which isn’t typically a good sign, but armed only with the premise, this poster and the previous first look image I can only say I think it sounds enticing. Whether or not it will actually live to be anything is another story.
