It was announced this morning Lionsgate will be holding special sneak previews of Warrior this Sunday, September 4th at 7:00 pm, in theaters nationwide, and on top of that announcement a clip from the film has made its way online and it just so happens to feature the best moment in the entire movie.
Warrior stars Tom Hardy and Joel Edgerton as a pair of brothers, divided by a broken family and brought back together through necessity. Hardy plays Tommy, an ex-Marine with a tragic past, looking to make some money so he turns to what he knows best… fighting. He recruits his deadbeat dad (Nick Nolte) to serve as his trainer and enters an MMA tournament awarding the biggest purse in the history of the sport.
The clip below happens very early in the film and adds an instant jolt of energy to the feature as Tommy steps into this particular gym for the very first time.
If you ask me, this clip should never have been released online, at least not in this form. You see, the fight in the clip is recorded and uploaded to YouTube in the film and that is what should have been released online, that YouTube video, which is basic, no-brainer viral marketing. Sheesh, do I have to do everything for these people?
I would like to add one more note, however. That is, Tom Hardy is an absolute BEAST in this movie. I can’t say I fell in love with it the way so many others seem to have, but Hardy… wow, he’s a monster and I can’t wait to see him as Bane in The Dark Knight Rises.
