John Cho Joins the Cast of ‘Total Recall’

I need to sit down and watch the original Total Recall so I can remember who all of these characters are as Entertainment Weekly brings us the latest name to join the cast of the Len Wiseman-helmed remake, which is set to being filming Monday in Toronto. That name is John Cho of Harold and Kumar fame and he will apparently play McClane, the smooth-talking rep for the mind-messing company that tempts Colin Farrell’s Douglas Quaid to implant fantastic memories into his brain. Okay, so that one is pretty much straight-forward, but otherwise I can’t remember much else.

Cho joins Farrell as well as Kate Beckinsale, Jessica Biel, Bill Nighy, Ethan Hawke and Bryan Cranston, the latter of which plays the film’s villain.

Total Recall is set to be released on August 3, 2012 and is described as a contemporized reimagining of Philip K. Dick’s short story “We Can Remember It for You Wholesale” and will apparently ditch the Martian storyline from the original Arnold Schwarzenegger pic and instead involves nation states Euromerica and New Shanghai, with Douglas Quaid (Farrell), a factory worker in the latter who begins to believe he is a spy — although he doesn’t know for which side.
