Nikki Finke just posted midnight numbers for The Hangover Part II and is reporting a staggering $9-10 million debut for the film from 2,600 locations and the expectation this could translate into $125 million for the five-day weekend. It opens in 3,615 theaters this weekend, a record for an R-rated film, and early estimates pegged it at around $100 million for the five-day. What I’m most curious about is who really feels the need to rush out and see it? Did you? What did you think?
Laremy just Kung Fu Panda 2. So to think an R-rated comedy could beat a 3D animated family film means there must be some kind of juice behind it.
Reviews are slaying it to the tune of 33% on RottenTomatoes and I personally didn’t find all that much enjoyment in it. So what gives? If you saw it I would love to hear your thoughts in the comments below.
