First Clip from ‘Drive’ Starring Ryan Gosling and Carey Mulligan

The press schedule was released for the Cannes Film Festival yesterday and I sadly learned it looks like I will be missing Nicolas Winding Refn’s Drive as it screens the afternoon of the day I leave. There is still a small glimmer of hope based on a schedule I received from a press agent, but it is looking like this following first look clip from the film is as close as I’ll get to seeing Drive until FilmDistrict releases it in theaters on September 16. I guess you win some and you lose some…

Drive comes from the director of Bronson and the Pusher trilogy and centers on a Hollywood stunt driver (Ryan Gosling), a loner by nature, who moonlights as a getaway driver-for-hire in the criminal underworld. He finds himself a target for some of LA’s most dangerous men after agreeing to aid the ex-con boyfriend of his beautiful neighbor (Carey Mulligan) in a job that goes dangerously awry. The only way he can keep her safe and stay alive is to do what he does best: Drive. Along with Gosling and Mulligan the film co-stars Bryan Cranston, Albert Brooks, Oscar Isaac, Christina Hendricks and Ron Perlman.

The clip below arrives courtesy of the Cannes Film Festival. It began making the rounds yesterday, but at that time it wasn’t available for download so I couldn’t embed it. Fortunately, today is a different day and I have a nice high resolution look at it for you. Take a peek below and if you want more from the film, I have a gallery six images from the flick right here.
