Playing in front of Winnie the Pooh when it hits theaters on July 15 will be a brand new 2D, hand-drawn animated short titled The Ballad of Nessie directed by Prep and Landing duo Stevie Wermers-Skelton and Kevin Deters with Billy Connolly narrating and a score from Oscar-winning composer Michael Giacchino (Up).
The short is set in the “bonny blue highlands” of Scotland and centers on Nessie, the friendly Loch Ness Monster, and how she and her best friend MacQuack the rubber duck came to live in the moor they now call home. Setting the adventure into motion is a greedy land developer named MacFroogle, who decides to build a mini-golf empire on top of Nessie’s home.
