First Look: Tom Hanks and Julia Roberts in Operatic ‘Larry Crowne’ Clip

Last night Tom Hanks appeared on “Jimmy Kimmel Live” following the Oscars and debuted the following first clip from his upcoming film Larry Crowne, which Universal is set to release in theaters on July 1.

Hanks co-wrote and directed the film which reunites him with his Charlie Wilson’s War co-star Julia Roberts. The film looks to be a comedic/dramatic look at the same ground covered by John Wells’s quickly forgotten The Company Men earlier this year as Hanks stars as the title character who’s just been laid off from his longtime position and now faces a large debt and the daunting task of starting over. He decides to head back to college where he develops a crush on his public-speaking teacher (Roberts), who, of course, has lost her passion for her job and her marriage.

On top of Roberts and Hanks, the film features a massive supporting cast including Taraji P. Henson, George Takei, Peter Scolari, Bryan Cranston, Cedric the Entertainer, Wilmer Valderrama, Jon Seda, Natascha McElhone, Maria Canals, Pam Grier, Rami Malek, Rob Riggle and co-writer Nia Vardalos.

Have a look at the clip below.
