When is Guy Ritchie’s Young Sherlock release date window?
Young Sherlock will release on Prime Video in 2026.
“Sherlock Holmes is a disgraced young man — raw and unfiltered — when he finds himself wrapped up in a murder case that threatens his liberty,” the official synopsis reads. “His first-ever case unravels a globe-trotting conspiracy that changes his life forever. Unfolding in 1870s Oxford and adventuring abroad, the series will expose the early antics of the anarchic adolescent who is yet to evolve into Baker Street’s most renowned resident.”
Besides Tiffin, the Prime Video show stars Dónal Finn as James Moriarty, Zine Tseng as Princess Gulun Shou’an, Joseph Fiennes as Silas Holmes, Natascha McElhone as Cordelia Holmes, Max Irons as Mycroft Holmes, and Colin Firth as Sir Bucephalus Hodge.
Showrunner Matthew Parkhill writes and executive produces the TV show. Additional executive producers include Ritchie, Dhana Gilbert, Marc Resteghini, Simon Maxwell, Ivan Atkinson, Simon Kelton, and Colin Wilson. Harriet Creelman and Steve Thompson are co-executive producers. Ritchie is also a director on the show.
Young Sherlock is not Ritchie’s first time exploring Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s most famous character. Ritchie directed 2009’s Sherlock Holmes, starring Robert Downey Jr. as the titular character and Jude Law as Dr. John Watson. The success of the film spawned the 2011 sequel, Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows. The two movies have a combined worldwide gross of over $1 billion.
