Six Injured on the Set of Uwe Boll’s ‘Dungeon Siege II’

CBC is reporting six people have been injured on the set of Uwe Boll’s Dungeon Siege II, which is currently filming in provincial park east of Vancouver. The explosion sounds as if it had nothing to do with filming directly as it occurred as a result of 20-pound propane tanks used in heaters on the set were being filled from a tanker truck.

Ffire Chief Dane Spence of the nearby city of Maple Ridge told CBC none of the injuries were life threatening. He added, “Apparently, there was a flash fire, and up to six people have been burnt.”

Perhaps just as interesting is the fact Boll is actually making a sequel to his 2008 flop, In the Name of the King: A Dungeon Siege Tale which starred Jason Statham, Leelee Sobieski, John Rhys-Davies, Ron Perlman, Matthew Lillard, Burt Reynolds, Kristanna Loken, Ray Liotta and Claire Forlani. The reported budget of the film was $60 million and it only went on to make $13 million worldwide.

The sequel, which I can only assume continues to be inspired by the “Dungeon Siege” video game series, apparently stars Dolph Lundgren. Boll recently described the film in an interview saying, “It’s like contemporary, right now big city, and we have Dolph Lundgren basically being a cop or like a fighting coordinator … and one night he gets attacked by ninjas in his house and fell with the ninjas into a vortex back in time.”

He continues, “And then it turns out it’s like 50 years after the first part In the Name of the King ended, and Ehb is destroyed and everybody is dead, Jason Statham and everybody who was in the first part, got wiped out.

“They say he was basically sent into the future, he’s the son of Jason Statham, and he was sent into the future, brought up in an orphanage, because the parents felt that they would all die. So he is basically the last survivor of the kingdom of Ehb so he should bring the kingdom back in charge.”

Good luck with that Uwe.
