What I Watched, What You Watched: Installment #60

While in Toronto I watched one film not included in the festival and on the way home I watched another, both of them I had on my computer courtesy of the Blu-ray Digital Copies, which means the feature I have always thought was worthless proves to be of value, particularly when visiting foreign countries or on long plane flights.

First off, a film looks much better on my 17″ Macbook than it does on a tiny screen on the headrest of the seat in front of me. Also, Netflix Instant Play doesn’t work outside of the U.S. which means I didn’t have access to that in Toronto, nor did I have access to it in Cannes earlier this year, which is when I got the idea to start transferring some of my digital copies over to my computer. I still don’t know why anyone would put a feature length movie on something like an iPod or iPhone, but on a laptop it makes sense for a business traveler for sure.

That said, here are the two movies I watched…

Star Trek (2009)
Inglourious Basterds (2009)

So that’s all I have for you this week. Any of you check out the new films in theaters? I am particularly interested in what people have to say about Devil. It wasn’t screened for critics in Seattle and I am mildly interested in checking it out. Is it worth it?
