Six Character Posters from Zack Snyder’s ‘Sucker Punch’

Zack Snyder’s upcoming World War I fantasy actioner Sucker Punch has made a bit of noise around the net recently as some magazine scans started making the rounds, but today Warner Bros. released six character banners from the film and has launched the official website giving fans a closer look at a film that looks to be a bit of a wild ride.

Set in the 1950s, Sucker Punch follows Babydoll (Emily Browning) who is confined to a mental institution by her stepfather, who intends to have her lobotomized in five days. While there, she imagines an alternative reality to hide her from the pain, and in that world, she begins planning her escape, needing to steal five objects to help get her out before she is deflowered by a vile man. Along with Browning the film stars Vanessa Hudgens, Abbie Cornish, Jamie Chung, Jena Malone, Carla Gugino and Jon Hamm.

Sucker Punch was originally expected to be another post-conversion 2D-to-3D feature, but in a recent interview Snyder seemed to backtrack a little tellin gMTV, “They’ve talked about doing a conversion and there’s been a lot of talk about us doing ‘Sucker Punch’ in 3-D, but I’m still waiting to see.”

He added, “We’ve looked at a bunch of conversions, so whether or not we have the time to do it right – I’m not going to do it if we don’t have the time to really be meticulous with it. It’s such an awesome piece of work and everyone’s worked so hard to make it awesome, so I don’t want to screw it up with bad 3-D.”

The film is set for a March 25, 2011 release. You can check out the posters directly below or larger versions right here.
