20th Century Fox has just made available eight new pictures and four clips from the upcoming Robert Rodriguez produced Predators, marking a solo return to the Predator universe for the first time since 1990’s Predator 2. Of course, there were the mash-up Alien vs. Predator features, but those can hardly be considered a part of the original franchise, which it would appear is what Predators is at least trying to be.
The film centers on a group of people led by the mercenary Royce (Adrien Brody) as they have been dropped off on an alien planet and soon realize they have been placed there as prey for the locals, which just so happen to be rather nasty killers.
Predators is directed by Nimrod Antal and is set to hit theaters next Friday, July 9. You can check out the RopeofSilicon gallery of 22 images right here and the four new clips can be viewed directly below. I have also just learned the film is 106 minutes long and rated R for strong creature violence and gore, and pervasive language.
