Dimension used its Twitter account to debut the poster for Alexandre Aja’s Piranha 3D, which is set to hit theaters on August 20 with a solid group of B and C-List actors with Richard Dreyfuss and Christopher Lloyd thrown in the mix.
The flick should be a lot of fun if Aja is able to nail the tone of the feature and never try to get overly dark in an attempt for realism. As long as he remembers this is about prehistoric man-eating fish chomping down on unsuspecting spring breakers at Lake Victoria we should be in for a good time. As for that cast I referenced, Jessica Szohr (“Gossip Girl”), Steve McQueen (“The Vampire Diaries”), Elisabeth Shue, Jerry O’Connell, Ving Rhames and Adam Scott star along with Richard Dreyfuss and Christopher Lloyd.
Fingers crossed and hoping for the best.
