Soundworks Collection has released a behind-the-scenes video featurette discussing the sound of Toy Story 3 with Skywalker Sound’s Re-Recording Mixer and Sound Designer Tom Myers, Sound Re-Recording Mixer Michael Semanick, Director Lee Unkrich, and Stuart Bowling, Technical Marketing Manager at Dolby Laboratories.
I’m trying to figure out just how many different Oscar nominations Toy Story 3 will be likely to nab and considering the quality of films to date I’d say it’s prime for a Best Picture nom, obviously Best Animated feature and then there’s the script, score and direction. But how about sound? Hmmmm, that’s a tough one at this point, but give the featurette below a watch and if you’ve seen the film weigh in with some thoughts in the comments.
