UPDATE: New Wachowski Siblings Futuristic Movie On Iraq In Production?

UPDATED: Devin at CHUD says these are just tests for the Wachowskis’ next project, and they’re just shooting a couple of days this month. On top of that Erik Davis at Cinematical points out they have optioned the David Mitchell novel “Cloud Atlas,” which FirstShowing.net learned Tom Tykwer was adapting back at the beginning of the year. That novel is comprised of six separate but loosely related narratives that weave together history, science, suspense, humor and pathos, but Tykwer didn’t tell the site which of the six stories he was focusing on. There’s also no confirmation that is the project they are working on.

Peter at Slash Film was the first to be alerted and sent out an email blast to the rest of us online movie folk that Arianna Huffington of The Huffington Post has updated her Twitter profile with five images from the set of a film she is working on. What is the film? According to Arianna, it’s a futuristic movie on Iraq directed(?)/produced(?) by the Wachowskis, you know, the duo that made The Matrix trilogy.

Based on the pics Huffington posted the film is apparently set 90 years in the future.

Like Peter, I had not heard a single word about this film and can only speculate as to what is going on with it. The images below include Huffington on set as well as one shot with Wachowski brother turned sister Lana Wachowski along with Lana’s parents.

Anyone out there heard of this film?
