I like both Denzel Washington and Tony Scott, but looking over the previous three films they made together only Crimson Tide moves me in any real way as Man On Fire was a mess (in my opinion) and Deja Vu was decent, but forgettable. The actor and director team again this summer for the needless remake The Taking of Pelham 1 2 3 for Columbia Pictures on June 12 and if talks work out they may be tied to the rails again before you know it.
Variety reports Washington is in talks to star in Scott’s thriller Unstoppable for Fox in which Washington would play an experienced engineer who jumps in a locomotive with a young conductor to chase down a runaway train carrying a cargo of toxic chemicals.
The script was penned by Mark Bomback (Live Free or Die Hard) and is loosely inspired by a true event.
The film would mark the fifth time the two worked together should things come together for what is expected to be a fall production start.
