Mara and Gregg Join ‘Iron Man 2’

Kate Mara and Clark Gregg have been added to, the already in production, cast of Iron Man 2 with Gregg returning as Agent Phil Coulson of S.H.I.E.L.D., a role he began in the first film, and Mara’s role is being kept quiet for the moment leaving a bit of mystery to a film I am sure will be all but spoiled by the time it actually hits theaters.

Production on the film has moved to Manhattan Beach, California and those interested can get daily updates via director Jon Favreau’s Twitter account in which he offers such juicy daily nuggets such as, “Scarlett and Downey in Stark manor,” and, “Shooting a scene with John Slattery.” Those amazing updates are from today alone. Can you believe the insanity?

I’m joking of course, Favreau has done a great job keeping fans excited for the next Iron Man installment, which is set to hit theaters on May 7, 2010 and Favreau has even confirmed via Twitter will have a presence at this year’s San Diego Comic Con, of which I will be in attendance and covering just as thoroughly as I did last year.
