Mark Verheiden has been hired to write the DreamWorks project Quartermain, says The Hollywood Reporter.
The sci-fi adventure springs from an original idea, though no plot details are available.
Quartermain is one of the 17 projects DreamWorks developed then paid to take with it when it left the Paramount fold last year. Paramount retains the right to co-finance and co-distribute the movie.
Verheiden is a writer and producer on TV’s “Battlestar Galactica” and “Heroes” and a former writer-producer on “Smallville.” He also has an adaptation of Teen Titans in development at Warner Bros. and Ark, based on his comic, in development at Columbia.
