MTV has added a new behind-the-scenes look at Watchmen (3/6/09) from the Vancouver set back in late 2007.
There are actually couple of interesting bits; 1) Matthew Goode admits he is primarily the only one in the cast that doesn’t really look like his character, Adrian Veidt, aka Ozymandias. Early on there were rumors Tom Cruise would take on the role, a choice I think would have been vastly superior to Goode.
2) Zack Snyder talks about how dark superhero comics have gotten and then compares it to Watchmen saying, “People are always like, ‘There’s dark characters in other superhero movies,’ and I always say, ‘Mostly those superheroes are doing things we want to do,’ where in my movie – in Watchmen – they’re doing really dark stuff.” Basically saying, “Yeah, those movies may be dark, but guess what – we got a guy that takes a flamethrower to Vietnamese before shooting a pregnant woman in the head. Now you tell me… which one really is dark?”
