I have just added 28 new images to the gallery for Che and while the film is coming out in two parts on December 12 I am keeping it as one in the database just for sanity sake. Buzz on the film is certainly mixed, but mixed in the sense that some people seem to come out loving and others seem to want to not like it, but can’t. I haven’t seen the film yet, but it seems to me a movie that is over four hours and broken up into two films as a result is always going to have problems, especially in a day an age where people do not like to wait for their end results, no matter who they are or how much they love films. A four hour film opens itself up to a lot of moments that should be cut, but the filmmaker is so invested in the feature they don’t want to let go of anything. After all, once you hit that four hour mark are you really concerning yourself with a couple minutes here and there?
Nevertheless, I am praying they screen the film here in Seattle before shuttling it off to video on demand in January. It just seems like one of those things you want to give a shot on the big screen just in case you fall in love with it.
