‘Street Fighter’ Cast Adds McDonough as Villain

Why is it so hard to make a good film in Hollywood based on a videogame? It can’t be because the stories aren’t good, because they actually aren’t that bad. The biggest reason it never seems to work is due to seriously uninspired casting and just overall careless behavior when it comes to adapting the story. Basically, the movies turn out to be as bad as the videogames that are based on films. Seriously, have you ever played one of the videogames based on a movie? Your IQ would have to be that of an infant to get any enjoyment out of one of them.

So what’s the latest debacle to hit the production of 20th Century Fox’s Street Fighter? Well, we already knew the cast was bogged down with Kristin Kreuk and the god-awful acting of Chris Klein. Now we are adding Neal McDonough, which means they just gave up. Someone please tell me what Michael Clarke Duncan is doing in this cast!

For those that are still interested, Kristin Kreuk will play Chun-Li, Michael Clarke Duncan will play Balrog, Chris Klein will play Charlie Nash, Neal McDonough will play M. Bison (primary baddie if I am not mistaken) and Taboo (of the freakin’ Black Eyed Peas) will play Vega.

Rick Yune, Edmund Chen and Moon Bloodgood. Yune is taking on the mystical Gen while Chen will play Cheng Pei Pei.

You want more bad news? Polish helmer Andrzej Bartkowiak is directing. Yeah, he directed Doom.

The film will be made in conjunction with Hyde Park Films, and will be distributed by 20th Century Fox for a scheduled 2009 worldwide release.
