Kate Hudson to Star in ‘Big Eyes’

I won’t bash Fool’s Gold just yet, but let me just say that I hope this next film for Kate Hudson is better because Lord knows it won’t be a tough task. Hudson is set to star in Big Eyes for Scott Alexander and Larry Karaszewski who will co-direct and also wrote the screenplay.

The film is about Margaret Keane, the painter whose distinctive creations featuring big-eyed children became one of art’s first mass-market success stories in the 1950s. The drama covers Keane’s personal awakening at the onset of the feminist movement, leading to a lawsuit she filed against her husband, Walter, who claimed credit for her works.

The film is being independently produced and is tentatively slated for June, depending on the prospects for the resolution of a new SAG contract.

One of Keane’s pieces of artwork can be seen below.
