I don’t know what exactly is going on, but there is absolutely nothing to talk about in the world of movies recently. While that has made posting on my blog much easier it has done nothing for my love for movies and sharing news with you folks.
However, if I wanted to, I could post news stories and speculation on Heath Ledger’s death at an alarming rate. I have done my best to keep it to a minimum unless their were things I felt should be shared, but this seems to be the only thing out there people are talking about outside of Barack Obama’s domination at the South Carolina polls.
However, there are a few details regarding Ledger I felt I should share and that you may find interesting.
First off, and I hate myself for posting this one, TMZ (yes, I know) has some sources that are saying Ledger’s death may actually be of natural causes. Here’s the report:
The reason they think that — it’s now appearing that the level of toxicity (from medication) in Ledger’s system was low enough that it may not have caused his death. These sources say Heath’s heart stopped. It could have been a heart attack but it’s not certain, at least not yet. Although it’s bizarre that a 28-year-old could die of natural causes, it happens.
The next big thing to talk about is how Jack Nicholson is saying he warned Ledger about sleeping pills. This isn’t true, Nicholson later cleared up his message to say that he “warn[s] people” and that he “did not know Mr. Ledger.”
Next there is news that the masseuse who found Ledger called Mary-Kate Olsen before calling the police. Olsen is not under investigation.
Then there is word that Johnny Depp is going to be filling in for Heath in Terry Gilliam’s currently stalled production The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus. The story quotes a source saying:
There is a point in the film when Heath falls through a magic mirror. He could change into another character after that and that is where Johnny would come in.
“It’s a weird, fantasy, time-travel movie so Heath’s character could easily change appearance. It would be a poignant moment.
“Johnny’s not working at the moment so everyone is praying he will do it.”
Finally, there is an audio interview you can find below courtesy of ComicMix in which Ledger told the site why he took the role of The Joker in The Dark Knight. A side note about this audio is that I found it courtesy of Cinematical whose headline read “Heath Ledger Talks Joker Role Prior to Death”. I gotta say, it is a good thing they cleared up the “Prior to Death” part. No hard feelings to the boys at Cinematical, I just found it interesting.
