While at the Sundance Film Fesitival MTV caught up with William Hurt, who stars in Universal’s The Incredible Hulk, but there were rumors there may be a scene that crosses over from Hulk into Paramount’s Iron Man. As it turns out, the rumors were indeed true.
When asked about the rumor Hurt told MTV:
I have a scene with Iron Man, with Robert Downey Jr. … It’s a funky scene.”
“I don’t know how it’ll work… I know it’s weird [to work with a character from another movie], and to know it’s a device. We did something; I don’t know what that’s going to be like [to watch].”
Based on that comment I am not sure how convinced Hurt is that the scene actually works. I am also not sure if the scene will be in Iron Man, Hulk or both. Then again, if it doesn’t work, it may not show up in either of them.
MTV speculates the scene Hurt shot will be featured in Hulk and even goes on to say we should expect Samuel L. Jackson to show up in Iron Man as Nick Fury.
The interview goes on to actually spoil a lot of the film (Hulk that is), including the ending, which pretty much pissed me off considering saying something more than “several plot revelations” should be a no brainer at this point. So if you want that read the whole article. Otherwise, here is one final quote Hurt gave with regards to comparing the new Hulk with Ang Lee’s 2003 film:
I saw that film. This is, stylistically, a completely different film. They just don’t relate.”
The Incredible Hulk hits theaters on June 13, 2008 and Iron Man hits one month earlier on May 2nd.
