If you are anything like me there are always a few people you delay in buying gifts for. This isn’t because you don’t want to buy them a gift or don’t even necessarily know what to get them. Often times it is because they live near you and you know you don’t have to have it shipped out, or that one perfect gift hasn’t yet hit you square in the face and said, “That’s it!”
Well, in the spirit of the holiday season I bring you RopeofSilicon’s first ever gift guide and this thing has something for everyone. Seriously, I scoured the web and things I would never even dream of looking at just to get you the goods from paperback books to $41,227 iPhones… NO JOKE!
Enjoy!

Christmas Television Favorites
I noticed this one at Amazon and it instantly seemed like a no-brainer. I mean, even at the ripe age of 30-years-old I can still appreciate several of the Christmas classics in this collection:

The West Wing – The Complete Series Collection
I believe it is safe to say that I think “The West Wing” is the best television drama I have ever seen, and if I didn’t already own all seven seasons I would be picking up this impressive collection immediately. As it stands I already have everything it offers so it is incumbent upon me to convince you to buy it for someone most deserving. The 45-disc set runs $161.49 at Amazon.

Star Trek The Original Series – The Complete First Season (Combo HD DVD and Standard DVD)
The $132.95 price tag on this collection is definitely a deterrent for most, but if you have any one that you are buying gifts for this Christmas that LOVES the original “Star Trek” series this is a must buy! Completely remastered the set is both HD DVD and DVD compatible and has enough features to keep that Trekkie out of your hair for hours. The 10-disc set runs $132.95 at Amazon.

The Jason Bourne Collection
It’s undoubtedly one of the best trilogies ever as the Bourne series is finally 100-percent available on DVD and HD DVD. While rumors persist that there may be a fourth film down the road I don’t really see it happening for quite some time so I think you are safe in picking this up and calling it the complete collection. The 4 disc set is available at Amazon and includes The Bourne Identity, The Bourne Supremacy and The Bourne Ultimatum.

My So-Called Life – The Complete Series (w/ Book)
I had to include at least one title aimed squarely at the women in the audience and “My So-Called Life” leapt out at me and said this is the one. This special edition release of the complete series is sure to keep the nagging lady out of your way for hours on end, and even if you are forced to watch it with her what harm is there in checking out Claire Danes? This six disc set with book runs $69.99 at Amazon.

New Line Cinema’s 40th Anniversary Collection
This 17 disc collection came out of nowhere as New Line did nothing to promote it until one day it landed on my doorstep as a gift from the studio. Suffice to say I felt it was necessary to mention since it includes one hell of a collection of films from the studio’s 40 year existence. Check out this list:
The set is a bit pricey at $157.99 at Amazon, but I am sure there are a lot of folks that know someone that would enjoy the entire thing. |

Exclusive Seinfeld Series DVD Gift Box
I mentioned this before, but I did a second look over at the Sony store and they are still available. With this collection here you not only relive all your favorite Seinfeld moments, but every episode is included in this exclusive collection of the complete series, packaged with a hilarious coffee table book theme. The set is a bit steep in price however at $399.99 at Sony.
