Batman as Dylan? Must be Clip Time!!

Okay, so I have seen I’m Not There and outside of everything else the film accomplishes there is one thing I really like about it, and that is that it doesn’t seem to be judging anyone. There doesn’t seem to be an agenda with Todd Haynes’ film, no underlying message that we should take home or any kind of bullshit like that.

What I took away from the film was that quite simply Bob Dylan was a complex man, and I have a feeling that if I knew more about Dylan and that time in music I would have enjoyed it more. While the little bit with the Beatles was quite funny, there were a few times people in my preview audience were chuckling and I had no idea what the joke or coincidence was.

Everything said, I have a taste of the movie for you in the form of four clips, and actually these are some good ones. The one called “Poets” is a clip with Heath Ledger as his incarnation of Dylan and it really is a great one. “I worship women… Everybody should have one.” A great line.

The two clips with Cate Blanchett as Dylan are “Sincere” and “Feelings” and they are two of her better parts of the film. The final one, “Times are Changing”, is with Christian Bale as Dylan and it has a great interview moment you are sure to enjoy.

I’m Not There is set to hit theaters on Wednesday, November 21, 2007, for more information, pics and cast information click here.
