Box-Office Oracle: Oct. 19 – Oct. 21

#1 movie predicted correctly: Never Ever
The truth is I’ve swung and missed many times in a row. I underestimated The Rock and Tyler Perry. Also they are releasing too many movies at once! See what I did there? That’s called changing the premise of the argument. This little vampire flick that could will take the crown with its 2700 theatres.
Estimate: $16.9 million
I don’t know who woud see this. But people will. It just looks so… stupid. And this is coming from someone who likes David Koechner.
Estimate: $11.7 million
Tyler Perry has faced a steep second weekend drop-off with his films so I’ve got him bleeding 55%. For the record nothing would surprise me at this point though, even if it turned out he was an alien.
Estimate: $9.6 million
B-Luv didn’t love it which means I won’t love it either. There are some movies you can follow certain people’s advice on and this is one of those. Which is sort of a shame because the trailer looks interesting. If one of my predictions is going to be way heavy it will be this one, there is no bottom to how much people hate serious movies these days.
Estimate: $8.1 million
The Game Plan for The Game Plan was simple. The Rock. A little girl. Football. If you or I had thought of this we’d have our own mansion by now.
Estimate: $7.7 million
Tough luck on this one getting delayed in the U.K. due to a high profile kidnapping. It looks like Casey will be joining the ranks of the elite soon.
Estimate: $6.3 million
Cant wait for We Own the Night II: This Time with Realistic Cops!
Estimate: $5.6 million
Nobody wanted to see it. So it goes.
Estimate: $5.6 million
Like they say in The Big Lebowski “I guess we can close the case on this one.”
Estimate: $3.7 million
It’s only in 1000 theaters. That’s nothing. Heck, I could be in a 1000 theaters tomorrow with a few phone calls. Did the distributors not catch that Halle Berry was in it? Very shoddy treatment for what’s rumored to be a good film.
Estimate: $3.5 million
