The Hollywood Reporter has posted an article saying that 35-40 actors took place in a casting marathon for director George Miller in Los Angeles today, October 14, and will continue tomorrow as they test for roles in the comic book movie Justice League of America. Who are the candidates? They have a list.
On the roll call are Adam Brody (Fox’s “The O.C.”), Joseph Cross (Running With Scissors), D.J. Cotrona (“Windfall”), Mary Elizabeth Winstead (Grindhouse), Michael Angarano (Sky High), Teresa Palmer (Wolf Creek), Max Thieriot (Jumper) and rapper Common.
The cast of NBC’s “Friday Night Lights” is well-represented as well, with Minka Kelly, Adrianne Palicki and Scott Porter also among those testing for parts. No costumes are involved in the tests, which are being taped as actors read script pages.
The article goes on to say that Miller is looking for very young names as he hopes the actors will grow into their roles over the course of several movies. Miller is not necessarily testing the actors for any specific roles, but looking more at how the actors interact with one another while keeping an eye on the look of the whole group. The director is due to present his findings to the studio midweek.
Stay tuned, IESB is reporting that WB may be looking at November 18, 2007 as the day the names are officially announced. Why that day, I have no idea.
