Yesterday we had news that Russell Mulcahy was taking on Zen in the Art of Slaying Vampires and now today we learn David Goyer will direct Baltimore, or The Steadfast Tin Soldier and the Vampire based on the graphic novel by “Hellboy” creator Mike Mignola and Christopher Golden who will also be writing the screenplay.
Pic has landed at New Regency and tells the story of the awakening of supreme evil on Earth. Lord Henry Baltimore is bitten by a demonic vampire bat on a WWI battlefield. The plague destroys his family, and Baltimore creates a team to hunt and fight the Red King, the embodiment of all evil.
Before Goyer takes on the undead he will next be telling the origin story of Magneto in the aptly named film Magneto, written by Sheldon Turner.
