‘Resident Evil 3’ Helmer Takes to Zen ‘Vampires’

I am the first one to watch any vampire feature, but this one sounds like it’s a bit too out there for me. Russell Mulcahy who just helmed the forgettable Resident Evil: Extinction is set to helm Zen in the Art of Slaying Vampires, and it is pretty much as silly as it sounds.

The synopsis reads saying that the protagonist is turned into a vampire as he and his lover are attacked in lower Manhattan. She dies, and he struggles to overcome his murderous instincts and thirst for blood through Zen meditation. A struggle for his soul ensues between the bloodsuckers and the zen masters. I just have to wonder if L.A. Lakers Zen master Phil Jackson will be taking a role in the flick (I admit I am the only one that will get that).

The pic is based on a novel by Steven-Elliot Altman and he will be adapting the screenplay for the bigscreen.

Mulcahy is expected to be filming The Scorpion King: Rise of the Akkadian, a prequel to The Scorpion King, which starred The Rock beginning in October. In all likelihood Zen will be the follow-up to that flick.
