At Comic Con it was entirely impossible to get to everything and it looks like MTV managed to get some news out of Resident Evil: Extinction writer Paul Anderson that others didn’t in regards to his next film Death Race.
Death Race is a remake of the 1975 David Carradine and Sylvester Stallone feature centering on a brutal cross-country car race of the future where pedestrians are run down for points. The champion of said race has a change of heart while being hounded by rivals and a conspiracy seeking to stop the race.
Jason Statham was already confirmed for the cast and now Tyrese Gibson and Joan Allen are joining the fray.
Anderson told MTV News, “[Joan Allen] kicks the most ass out of everybody.” Allen, as many of you may know, will be on screen this weekend in The Bourne Ultimatum.
Death Race is currently eyeing a September 26, 2008 release.
