Kasdan Penning ‘Clash of the Titans’ Remake

I have always loved Clash of the Titans despite its campiness, that is just part of its charm, but for a 1981 piece it really is quite extraordinary. However, the thought of a remake is even more interesting as it would be a completely different adventure considering the advancements in technology. Really, if they knock out a good script and get a visionary helmer to direct this could be one hell of a great feature.

Warner Bros. is taking to the script portion right now and it looks like a good choice to me as they have set Empire Strikes Back and Raiders of the Lost Ark scripter Lawrence Kasdan to pen a new draft of the film. Travis Beacham already penned a draft. While Kasdan really hasn’t penned a fantasy film since Return of the Jedi in 1983 his experience in the field is easily respectable enough to consider this a good choice.

The story of Clash revolves around Zeus’ son, Perseus, and his journey to save Princess Andromeda during which he must complete various tasks set out by Zeus, including capturing Pegasus and slaying Medusa. The original marked the final film on which Ray Harryhausen did special effects.
