There are a few rumors floating around at the moment and instead of writing one paragraph news briefs on each one I offer them all at once.
First off, Cinemablend is reporting that Tom Hanks will return as Robert Langdon in Angels & Demons reprising the role he played in 2006’s Da Vinci Code. This is hardly a rumor since it was always assumed that both Hanks and Ron Howard would be returning for the follow-up.
Next Hollywood North Report is saying that The Exorcism of Emily Rose helmer Scott Derrickson is aboard to direct the remake of The Day the Earth Stood Still for 20th Century Fox. Word is that he is currently prepping for production in Vancouver.
The Sydney Morning Herald is reporting more Tom Hanks news, this time along with Steven Spielberg saying that the two will reteam for The Pacific, the follow-up to their successful World War II series, Band Of Brothers. Apparently the duo will film the $150 million, 10-part series in Australia making it the most expensive ever made down under. The news is being reported because they have set up a production office in Melbourne and commenced casting. Sounds solid enough to me.
And that is it from the rumor mill as of now.
