Dakota Fanning has seen her star rise and rise over the past five years from when she starred as a kidnapped little girl in Trapped to her role in the Steven Spielberg blockbuster War of the Worlds, with plenty of family films in between. Well, all that is about to change as her film Hounddog debuted at Sundance this year featuring the little girl as a rape victim and now she is set to star alongside her sister Elle Fanning in Hurricane Mary.
Dakota and her sister will play disabled twins in the true story of an Irish-American mother (Patricia Clarkson) who fought a long battle for the rights of her handicapped yet gifted daughters to have a public school education.
The film also stars Chris Cooper, William H. Macy, Laura San Giacomo and Jordi Molla and will be directed by Arvin Brown from a script by Marianne Leone.
Production is scheduled for September in New York.
