How Madagascar made $193.5 million at the box-office is a mystery to me. Personally I thought it was one of the worst animated movies of all-time. There was virtually no story and the hardly used penguins were the only good thing in the whole movie. However, money talks, and the DVD has done extraordinarily well at DreamWorks, as you know, is moving forward with the sequel and in an interview with ComingSoon.net Alex the Lion voice, Ben Stiller, revealed that they are “starting to record [the sequel] very soon.”
Stiller went on to give a bit of a plot synopsis saying, “I think all the animals head back to New York on that plane that you know was up in the trees and then they crash in Africa and Alex gets reacquainted with his real family and it goes from there.”
Madagascar 2 is set to hit theaters on November 7, 2008.
