Variety has a few casting updates worth note, but not their own articles.
First off Mary McCormack is set to join the cast of the Stephen King adaptation 1408 replacing Kate Walsh whose schedule got in the way. 1408 is set to shoot in mid-July in the U.K. and stars John Cusack and Samuel L. Jackson in a story in qhich Cusack plays a debunker of paranormal occurrences who encounters real terror when he checks into the notorious room 1408 at the Dolphin Hotel. McCormack will play Cusack’s wife.
Next, David Paymer has joined the cast of Ocean’s Thirteen which is currently filming in Las Vegas and Los Angeles. Paymer also stars in Resurrecting the Champ.
Finally Simon Pegg has been cast to play self-promoting Brit writer Toby Young in the movie adaptation of his bestselling book How to Lose Friends and Alienate People, in which he detailed his disastrous stint as a contributing editor for Vanity Fair in New York. Young is merciless about his own hapless attempts to ingratiate himself with celebrities and impress supermodels. But he is equally scathing about the ego and grandeur of his boss Carter, and the self-importance of the entire Vanity Fair machine.
