BlackFilm has posted a report just days after Bloody-Disgusting dropped the news that Ving Rhames and Mira Sorvino were set to star in the Day of the Dead remake. While the site does report that Rhames has joined the cast they emphatically report that Sorvino is not in the film, but there is a name to replace hers.
The site reports that Nick Cannon and Mena Suvari will join Rhames in the zombie remake to be directed by Steve Miner (Halloween H20, Friday the 13th, Part 2, 3D). BlackFilm reports that their casting announcement has been confirmed through Millennium Films.
Day of the Dead is a remake of the 1985 George Romero classic in which a small group of military officers and scientists dwell in an underground bunker as the world above is overrun by zombies.
