‘Batman Begins’ Sequel Title = ‘The Joker’?

It is odd sometimes how some of the more interesting bits of info pop-up in some of the most unlikely places, but this little story for some reason really grabbed my attention.

Thanks to RopeofSilicon reader ‘JokesALot’ we were sent a link to the UK’s site for Turner Classic Movies where they have published an interview with Michael Caine who played Alfred in Batman Begins. Well, Caine, of course, is going to be in the sequel and while rumors are flying as to who will play the baddie in the second picture it seems the title may be set as… The Joker. I don’t know about you, but that just sounds cool. Here is the snippet from the interview as told by Caine:

Now I will do something there are three pictures I want to do, small parts. One [Children of Men, released September 2006] is with Alfonso Cuaron who directed Y tu Mama Tambien, I wanted to work with him and then Christopher Nolan who directed Batman is doing a smaller film called The Prestige about magicians and it’s very interesting. And we’re going to make The Joker next year.

For some reason The Joker just sounds so much better than Batman Begins 2 (which would be silly since you can only “begin” once) or Batman: The Joker. For now the title will remain Untitled Batman Begins Sequel in the database until the story is confirmed.
