Adam Shankman has better things to do than direct Sarah Jessica Parker in a movie no one wants to see, namely Hairspray, as Todd Graff has just replaced him in the director’s chair for Slammer starring Parker.
The film finds Parker playing a pushy publicist who’s wrongly imprisoned on the charge she took fashion freebies meant for clients and turned them over to knockoff artists for mass production. Once in Sing Sing, she produces an inmate musical.
The film will shoot this fall in New York.
