Catching Up With Foxx, Hartnett and More

Yeah, I know I am late on these stories today, but here is a quick rundown on three stories I would have posted earlier had I had the time.

First off our boy Jamie Foxx is attached to star in the adaptation of Jeff Stetson’s novel “Blood on the Leaves” for Paramount Pictures.

Variety tells us that Stetson is going to be adapting his own novel into the screenplay. The story centers on a district attorney who grapples with feelings of revenge as he prosecutes a black history professor on trial for the murders of white men accused of crimes against blacks during the civil rights movement. Foxx would topline as the D.A.

Our next little blurb out of Variety involves some big names all in the same film as Josh Hartnett, John Malkovich, Ellen Barkin, Alison Lohman and Tom Waits are set to star in the indie feature Texas Lullaby a film said to be inspired by Shakespeare’s “Hamlet”.

The film set in East Texas in the late 1980s, where a young man is tortured by the mysterious death of his father. He’s trying to figure out how it happened and why his mother is now married to his dad’s brother, the town sheriff. Lohman plays the young man’s girlfriend.

Malcolm Venville will direct from a Steve Allison script

Finally we learn that Hugh Jackman has found himself yet another starring vehicle over at 20th Century Fox as he will be the lead in the crime drama Fed X.

Nah, it ain’t about delivering packages, instead Jackman will play a green FBI agent sent to Miami to retrieve a criminal for prosecution. During the return trip, the fed and the thug each learn there’s more to the other than expected.
