I don’t think Jon Heder has proven himself just yet, but Napoleon Dynamite sure did seal the deal on his career as he seems to be finding roles everywhere, and now he will be starring alongside Will Ferrell in Blades of Glory for DreamWorks, and if that wasn’t enough Amy Poehler and husband Will Arnett are also in talks to star.
The film is described by Variety as a high-concept comedy set in the world of professional ice skating. Ferrell will play one of two former rivals who, stripped of their gold medals from the 2002 Winter Games and permanently banned from the men’s singles Olympics figure skating competish, exploit a loophole in their suspensions and join forces to compete in the pairs category.
Will Speck and Josh Gordon are on board to direct the feature with Ben Stiller and Stuart Cornfeld’s Red Hour producing along with John Jacobs’ First Entertainment.
As for that rising career of Jon Heder I mentioned, he had a small bit part in the DreamWorks rom-com Just Like Heaven and also has found roles in the upcoming films The Benchwarmers with Rob Schneider and David Spade, and in the Weinstein Co.’s School for Scoundrels with Billy Bob Thornton and that isn’t it, click here for the rest.
