Willis Slips in ‘Black Water’

This year a few people in the movie going audience were duped into checking out Nicolas Cage in Lord of War as the trailers made it look like a good movie, and even some critics said it was good. What were they thinking?!?

Fortunately, Hollywood is taking another stab at the gun-running racket as Bruce Willis has just been tapped to play Earl Pike, a criminal who tries to get his family’s illegal gun collection to a safe haven, in Black Water Transit. The film was scripted by Doug Richardson based on the Carsten Stroud novel. Richardson also scripted the recent Willis starrer Hostage and has laid the pen to paper for the long-delayed Die Hard 4.0.

When lensing begins in March 2006 it will also mark the directorial debut of music video and commercial helmer Samuel Bayer.

The overall story follows the divergent agendas of criminals, cops and lawyers as they collide over a shipment of illegal firearms and a double homicide.

There are three other key roles that will be cast shortly Variety reports.
