‘Edmond’ Comes in First

David Mamet may very well be one of the most respected writer/directors in the biz and his upcoming screen adaptation of his own play, Edmond, is looking to be quite the affair.

First Independent Pictures has acquired North American rights to the film, which was written by Mamet and will be directed by Stuart Gordon.

As for actors the list is long, but distinguished, as stars William H. Macy, Julia Stiles, Denise Richards, Mena Suvari, Dylan Walsh, Joe Mantegna and Rebecca Pidgeon all are aboard for the dark tale of man who tries to come to terms with a dull and meaningless life, only to descend from respectability into a dark world of murder and prison.

The film is an adaptation of the David Mamet play, first produced in 1982 at the Goodman Theatre in Chicago.
