Shimizu Equals ‘Grudge’ Times Seven?

I will not deny I enjoyed The Grudge, but I didn’t exactly get the chills from the Japanese original Ju-On, but my opinion aside the public loves the films and writer/director is apparently going to milk it for all its worth.

The horror extraordinaire website, Bloody-Disgusting.com, has scored news detailing that Takashi Shimizu is not wholly satisfied with the growing toll of films based on the rage-aholic infection as they now learn that not only will Shimizu be writing and helming the upcoming flick The Grudge 2, but he is also working on a Grudge 3 for the Japan market.

The site goes on to explain the timeline as thus: First he did Ju-on and Ju-on 2 for TV, then he remade them into his feature film Ju-on: The Grudge and Ju-on: The Grudge 2. Then he came to the US and remade the films again with The Grudge and has now announced that he will direct the second US sequel and third Japanese sequel.

Sounds like a bit much to me, but as the saying goes, “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.”
