Lindsay Lohan to Host 2004 MTV Movie Awards

MTV: Music Television today announced that Lindsay Lohan from the hit movie Mean Girls, which currently is the #1 comedy nationwide, is set to host the 2004 MTV MOVIE AWARDS. As previously announced, D12, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, and Beastie Boys will perform at the thirteenth annual awards show. The star-studded awards ceremony will air on Thursday, June 10th at 9PM (ET/PT) and tape on Saturday, June 5th at Sony Pictures Studios in Culver City, CA.

“When I was in high school (a couple of years ago) I was ruled by a group of Mean Girls, so I can totally relate to Lindsay Lohan’s character in her massive hit movie,” said Van Toffler, President, MTV/MTV2 & MTV Films. “Lindsay is smart, funny, she has an amazing connection to the MTV audience, and she’s a huge star – that makes her the perfect choice to host this year’s show.”

Lohan can currently be seen in the lead role in the hit movie, Mean Girls. Prior to Mean Girls, she starred in Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen and played opposite Jamie Lee Curtis in Freaky Friday for which she garnered a 2004 MTV Movie Award nomination. She made her feature film debut in 1998 playing twins in Parent Trap, co-starring Dennis Quaid and Natasha Richardson. She won a 2004 Total Request Live Award for best co-host. Lohan’s career began at the age of three as a Ford model and appeared in over 60 television commercials. If that’s not enough, she’s been singing and dancing since the age of four and has songs on the soundtrack of her movies, Freaky Friday and Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen.
