2929 Productions partners Todd Wagner and Mark Cuban have optioned the Kem Nunn novel “Tijuana Straits,” and set Ric Roman Waugh to adapt and direct it, reports Variety.
The novel is about a reclusive ex-surfer drawn into helping a Mexican woman who’s being hunted by a killer hired by cartels to silence her before she exposes corruption in Tijuana.
Waugh is a former Hollywood stuntman who most recently directed the Val Kilmer starrer Felon.
Nick Wechsler will produce with 2929’s Wagner, Cuban and Marc Butan.
