Castle Rock Entertainment has acquired feature rights to Peter Ferry’s “Travel Writing” and is developing it as a vehicle for Rob Reiner to direct, reports Variety.
The novel, a love story set against the backdrop of a murder investigation, was brought to Castle Rock by Alan Greisman, who will produce along with Reiner and Castle Rock.
The novel, marking Ferry’s debut, centers on an English teacher’s amateur investigation into a traffic fatality. Ferry recently retired as a high school English teacher.
Lou Berney, who sold Tangled Up in Blue to Focus, is adapting the book.
