Thomas Haden Church is starring in Animus Films’ indie drama Don McKay with Elisabeth Shue, Melissa Leo, M. Emmet Walsh and Keith David.
Variety says the $5 million project, which began shooting last week west of Boston, has a Screen Actors Guild waiver.
Jim Young (Voltron) is producing; Church’s producing partner, David Denney, co-produces, and Church executive produces. Jake Goldberger is directing from his own script.
The story centers on a man haunted by a tragedy that forced him to flee his hometown 25 years earlier who returns when he finds his long-lost love is dying — and is then caught in a web of confusion, deceit and murder.
